Piercing Aftercare

Clean your piercing gently with your saline solution – maybe when you brush your teeth or take a shower to give yourself a gentle reminder every day.

Clean with a clean cotton bud dipped in sterile saline solution. Use this around the pierced area two times a day.

Dab (don’t wipe) the piercing dry with a clean paper towel.

Don’t pick, twist or push the piercing back and forth. They heal best by being left alone, other than cleaning.

Avoid using perfumed soaps. 

Don’t lie on the pierced area for long periods of time. Sleeping or lying down on your piercing can trap moisture or bacteria in the area, increasing your risk for infection. It can also cause the piercing to become angled.

Try your best not to get any hair or body products in the piercing area. Be careful when you use shampoo, soap, gel, pomade, hairspray, or other products that can get near the piercing and irritate the tissue.

In case of infection see a health professional asap DO NOT take your piercing out as the infection can become imbedded
